Help Us Raise 1 Ton Of Food For New Hope Food Pantry!

Food insecurity is on the rise in Kansas City. And yes, even here in Johnson County. We have another 3 Cans & A Good Time Networking Event coming up in a few weeks, and we need your help. Since we first started hosting this event last year, we have raised an amazing 5,801 pounds of food for New Hope Food Pantry. At our first event we raised less than 200 pounds. Fast forward to this past September…we collected over 1700 pounds! But in December, we’re going bigger and we need your help! Our goal: 2,000 pounds!

What Is New Hope Food Pantry?

New Hope Food Pantry is an emergency food pantry that serves families in Johnson, Miami and Wyandotte Counties. In 2022, they served 7,561 families. That’s 1,766 more families than in 2021. With the current state of the economy, that number has continued to grow in 2023. In fact, they have already served over 30,000 people this year, surpassing the number served in all of 2022.

That’s where your support of 3 Cans & A Good Time comes in! Every 8 weeks or so we partner with other area businesses to throw this fun event to bring together the community and raise the most food possible for New Hope Food Pantry. The December event is special because it gives us the opportunity to help needy families by giving them food for a holiday dinner. While we will take any and all non-perishable food donations you want to bring, we kindly request that you consider contributing items from the following list, which are especially sought after for holiday meals:

• Instant potatoes
• Stuffing mix
• Canned green beans and corn
• Canned pumpkin
• Jello
• Fruit cocktail
• Cake mix and icing
• Canned yams
• Canned meat
  

Your support will go a long way in brightening someone’s holiday and providing a festive meal for those in our community who need it most.
